Main Focus:

Project website has an extensive, county by county listing of mental health providers for women with perinatal depression. 

Project objectives include:

1.     Increase screening, early identification and effective treatment referrals for perinatal depression

2.     Provider training in partnership with Iowa Depression and Clinical Research Center: 

a)         Train the Trainer: equips participants with knowledge and skills necessary to serve as instructors to teach maternal depression screening and referral 
b) STEP: Support Training to Enhance Primary Care for Postpartum Depression – Developed by Michael O’Hara PhD and Scott Stuart MD. 3.     Public Awareness Campaign:
a)Sponsored exhibits at the state fair, local hospitals, baby fairs and posters at community events.
b)Disseminated mirrors with resource information and the statement “You can’t tell by looking” stamped on it, and letter openers with “Open up and talk to someone”
