Main Focus:
  1. Family Home Visiting (FHV). Local public health departments provide postpartum depression screening to clients. The MDH provides resources to providers and community members regarding postpartum depression.
  2. Collaborates with other partners including state agencies to integrate mental health screening into pediatric settings.
  3. Formed The Postpartum Depression Education and Information Workgroup to create policies and guidelines for implementing Minnesota Statute 145.906 regarding postpartum education.
  4. Developed postpartum depression education materials.
  5. Provided NCAST-AVENUW Promoting Maternal Mental Health During Pregnancy trainings in 2005, 2006, 2007.
