Main Focus:
  1. Multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team to provide leadership and technical assistance Estimates of prevalence of perinatal depression and related risk factors, using NM PRAMS data, for assessment and policy
  2. Needs and Resources Assessment to identify strengths and gaps in topical areas with sub-groups working to address issues such as; a) Screening and referral in primary care settings, b) Screening and referral in other settings, c) Eligibility for public funded care and other issues of access to care, d) Geographic distribution of  mental health providers, e) Community networks, resources for addressing maternal depression, f) Role of support programs in reducing symptoms, like perinatal case management, home visiting, support groups, etc., g) Assuring cultural competency of maternal depression screening tools in Spanish language, such as the Edinburgh tool for NM Spanish speaking population
