Case Management, such as Families First

• Services Medicaid eligible high risk mothers and children with offices statewide
• Medicaid Managed Care and HMOs provide case management 
• These programs do not standardize maternal depression screening tools as yet; in process of introducing use

Comprehensive home visiting programs with prenatal, postpartum and birth to three - PrimerosPasos of Santa Fe, Healthy Start in southern New Mexico, Welcome Baby in Taos; several using the First Born model; and the others may not be aware of

• Home visitation program available to all first time pregnant and first time families at any time during pregnancy up through child's first three years of life or until family goals are reached.
• A postpartum visit by a nurse can be offered to families in some programs
• Standardized depression screening tools are used in prenatal and postpartum period, including but not limited to the Edinburgh and the Centers for Epidemiology Depression Screening tool.
