Main Focus:

  1. Home visiting program to decrease maternal and infant morbidity and mortality by providing home-based prenatal and postpartum/parenting education and psychosocial support services. 
  2. HUGS services are provided to families with children from birth through age five that have health risks or risks for developmental delays. 
  3. Program services are statewide. 
  4. Prenatal and postpartum women are provided services to prevent or reduce the complications of pregnancy; to prevent future unplanned pregnancies; to prevent developmental delays in the unborn child; and to offer support to women who have lost a child under the age of two. 
  5. HUGS staff are provided training in the sure of the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale to assess their clients for postpartum depression.
