Main Focus:

  1. Administers PRAMS questionnaire to mothers: 2 specific perinatal depression questions: 
    a. "Since your new baby was born how often have you felt down, depressed or hopeless" (always, often, sometimes, rarely, never)
    b. "Since your new baby was born how often have you had little interest or pleasure in doing things" (always, often, sometimes, rarely, never)
    c. A mother is considered at risk for postpartum depression if they answered Always or Often to either question. 
  2. Distributes materials to families about perinatal depression via home visits and through clinical providers
  3. Direct referrals are made to mental health clinicians by clinical care providers and also home visitors (nurses and social workers)
